For a second consecutive session, US equity performances were mixed as the Nasdaq 100 posted gains despite both the S&P 500 and Dow moving lower. The Nasdaq 100 ($NDX) rose a further 22.18 points (0.11%) to 20,383.64, meaning the index is now trading just over 300 points of its all time highs reached earlier this year. On the other hand, the S&P 500 ($SPX) fell 2.78 points (0.047%) to 5,851.2, and the Dow ($INDU) fell 6.71 points (0.016%) to 42,924.89.

Japanese equities suffered further sell offs through Tuesday with the nation’s benchmark index, the Nikkei 225 (¥N225) losing a further 542.64 points (1.39%) to 38,411.96 as selling pressure rises. In China, positive momentum seems to be rebuilding as the Shanghai Composite (¥SSE) closed higher for a second consecutive session, rising 17.76 points (0.54%) to 3,285.87.
