Europe
Similarly to their Japanese counterparts, traders in the UK managed to reverse their fortunes on Thursday as London listed equities edged higher. The FTSE 100 (FTSE) rose 10.74 points (0.13%) to 8,269.38. On the continent, the Pan European STOXX 600 (STOXX) also saw a shift in momentum rising 0.14 points (0.027%) to 518.98. though the 520 level continues to present sustained resistance.


USA
US equities returned to a state of relative uncertainty on Thursday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq moving higher while the Dow was pushed lower. The S&P 500 ($SPX) rose 12.44 points (0.21%) to 5,809.86, erasing around 23% of Wednesday’s losses. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 ($NDX) rose 165.92 points (0.83%) to 20,232.87 erasing 52% of it’s previous session losses. On the other hand, the Dow ($INDU), tracking a basket of 30 of the largest cap US firms, ended its winning streak, falling 140.59 points (0.33%) to 42,374.36.


Rest of the World
Traders in Japan have finally bucked the weeks downtrend as the nation’s benchmark index, the Nikkei 225 (¥N225) rose 38.43 points (0.10%) to 38,143.29. in contrast, Chinese equities cooled after a build up of positive momentum through the start of this week. The Shanghai Composite (¥SSE) fell 22.54 points (0.68%) to 3,280.26, as traders met sustained resistance around the 3,315 level.
